This is a strong exhibition by local Sydney artist Jessica Geron who was the winner of City of Villages Art Competition in 2007. Jessica paints with confidence and really piles on the paint to achieve her bright, graphic, narrative style.

Sarina Tomchin at Bike Bar Bondi

You may be asking why a bike shop is being included in an arts website. Well....the Bike Bar Bondi 225 Oxford Street, Bondi (opposite the bus depot) is not only a bike shop but also a cafe and an artist's gallery. Visitors to the cafe or customers of the bike shop can view an exhibition of original paintings, drawings and prints by the in-house artist Sarina Tomchin, whos style of painting and drawing appears to be influenced by a combination of Duchamp and early 20th century graphic design. The themes in Sarina's paintings combine cycling motifs with coffee, pushbike paraphenalia, cycling merchandise, famous cycling fashion labels and typography.

Bob Dylan in Bondi Junction

Drawn Blank, an exhibition featuring 29 limited edition hand signed Giclee prints by Bob Dylan was held at the Spring St Gallery, Bondi Junction and closed on 19 November 2008. The exhibition of the 29 images had virtually sold out by the time I got to see it. So, if you're were thinking of picking up your very own original artwork by Bob you may be a little too late, the show finished and only a few were left by the time the doors closed on the show.
